Department Of Veterans’ Affairs
At Amazing Smiles, we accept the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) Dental program, which supports eligible veterans, their dependents, and some civilians with their oral health needs.
The program covers a variety of dental treatments, including preventive care, general dentistry, and denture services, to help veterans maintain their dental health.
Our experienced team is registered with DVA and is familiar with the program’s requirements. We coordinate closely with DVA to provide personalised treatment plans and ensure a smooth experience for our patients.
If you’re an eligible DVA patient, we invite you to visit us for your dental needs. Our compassionate team will assist you in understanding your coverage and provide quality dental care in a comfortable setting. We are dedicated to supporting the oral health of our veterans.

Steps involved when using DVA Dental
The Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) offers dental services to eligible veterans, including Gold Card holders, White Card holders with dental conditions related to their disabilities, and certain dependents. Here’s how to access DVA dental benefits:
- Register with DVA: Ensure you have a DVA card (Gold or White).
- Confirm eligibility: Check if your accepted dental condition qualifies for DVA coverage, typically including preventive care, general dentistry, and denture-related treatments.
- Find an approved clinic: Contact an Amazing Smiles dental clinic, which is DVA-approved. A list of approved dentists is available on the DVA website.
- Book an appointment: When scheduling your visit for a dental examination or treatment, inform the clinic that you are a DVA patient.
- Attend the appointment: Bring your DVA card and any relevant documentation. Notify the dental team that you wish to use your DVA benefits before treatment.
- Payment: Amazing Smiles Dental will usually bill DVA directly, but confirm this with the clinic to avoid confusion.
Keep your DVA card updated and inform DVA of any changes to maintain dental benefits.
What is covered with DVA Dental?
- Preventive Care: This includes routine check-ups, examinations, and professional teeth cleanings to maintain good oral health.
- General Dentistry: The DVA Dental program covers services such as fillings, extractions, and root canal treatments.
- Dentures: The program covers the provision and maintenance of dentures, including full and partial dentures. Includes denture re-lining every two years.
- Crowns and Bridges*: Dental crowns and bridges, which are used to restore and enhance the appearance and functionality of damaged teeth, can be claimed under the DVA Dental program.
- Oral Surgery: The program covers certain oral surgical procedures, such as surgical extractions and removal of impacted teeth.
- Periodontal Treatment: Treatment for gum diseases and conditions, including scaling and root planing, can be claimed under the DVA Dental program.
- Prosthodontic Services: This includes the provision of fixed and removable prosthodontic appliances, such as dental implants and implant-supported dentures.
It’s important to understand that coverage and treatment options may change depending on individual situations and the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) ‘s decisions. We recommend speaking with our dental team for detailed information about what services you can claim under the DVA Dental program.
The DVA Dental program covers high-cost items up to an annual limit of $2,643.25 each year. With a White Card, you can get coverage for service-related conditions like Bruxism (teeth grinding) through this program.
